Born on Merseyside in 1962,
David's interest for photography began at school. He
studied photography at The Wirral College of Art &
design and, in 1981, began his photographic career in
Liverpool. Now living in West Yorkshire, he devotes
himself to photographing the landscape.

"The landscape and
photography are very important to me. There is a sense
of magic outdoors. Our variable weather creates so many
different moods and feelings in the landscape. The changing
light reveals patterns, shapes, tones and textures that
may go unnoticed if we don't spend time discovering
and exploring them. I love this experience. Being able
to share this with others, through photography, is something
that I cherish. I want to raise people's awareness
and appreciation of the landscape with my photography.
Working in monocrome allows me to portray the landscape
in a way people may not be familiar with. Without colour,
a black & white photograph invites us to become
involved and intrigued with the subject. Our landscape
offers us the same invitation. I would like to think
that my images encourage people to explore it for themselves."
